The mission of the UCLA Internship Alumni Network is to advance the purposes and causes of the UCLA Internship and Study Abroad Office. These include the following:

• Making students aware of the wide variety of opportunities to study and travel overseas, or gain unique experience as an intern for an elected official, government agency, corporation, nonprofit company or other employer.

• Raising money for the Alex White Scholarship fund.

• Promoting the internship experience to UCLA students and alumni and increasing awareness of the Internship and Study Abroad programs on campus and in the media.

• Assisting students to obtain intern positions and guiding them through the process of career exploration.

• Initiating outreach to intern alumni and students, and sponsoring social events for IAN members and other intern alumni.

• Contributing to a sense of community among internship alumni and students.

• Building relationships with international organizations and companies.

The UCLA IAN is dedicated to increasing awareness that life experience, not theory alone, is essential to individual intellectual development.
