About Us
The UCLA Internship Alumni Network is an alumni organization whose focus is on experience and action. We recognize that internships and study abroad experiences are powerful means for individuals in selecting the right career path, in building one’s credentials, and in developing oneself for success in life. As such, we serve as an alumni resource that supplements and works in conjunction with the UCLA Internship and Study Abroad Office.
To date, we have raised over $90,000 for the Alex White Scholarship Fund (see 'Ways to Give Back'). Through this fund, we have granted scholarships to UCLA students for their internships in Washington D.C., Sacramento and Los Angeles. Last year, our scholarship recipients interned at the Los Angeles Mayor’s Office of Intergovernmental Relations, the Office of Congressman Adam Schiff, the Office of Senator Barbara Boxer, the Office of Congressman Henry Waxman, National Public Radio and Public/Private Action Group.
In addition to empowering students financially, we, as alumni, are a powerful resource for students on a personal level. Through the years, alumni have given back to UCLA through internships, job offers and talks with students. It is a part of our objective to facilitate this interactive exchange between alumni and students.
Last but not least, we are a network of alumni who have done internships or studied abroad. This brings together a dynamic range of experiences – from the political arena, the government sector, business, nonprofit work and law. You can visit our Alumni Page to learn more about where these experiences have taken some of our alumni.
Make sure to sign up on our mailing list so that we can inform you of our upcoming events and programs. There are many ways to give back to UCLA, and together, we do make a difference!
